Origin
Sansevieria Hahnii also known as “Bird’s Nest” is a popular, compact cultivar of the well-known snake plant. Bird’s Nest is a species of a flowering plant in the family Asparagacae, native to tropical West Africa from Nigeria east to Congo.
Description
The miniature succulent is only about 6-10in tall and has a stunning rosette shape. It also comes in varieties with interesting variegation and silver green color. Like most snake plants, the Bird’s Nest is very hardy and easy to grow.
Thriving Location
The small height makes is ideal for indoor areas of your home or office.
Sun
Does best in moderate to bright, indirect light. However, they are highly adaptable to almost all kinds of light conditions.
Water
Allow the soil to dry out completely before watering. Water thoroughly and allow to drain freely. Do not allow the plant to sit in water as this will cause root rot.
Temperature
This Snake Plant is happy in places with temperatures between 60°F and 75°F and can tolerate temperatures as low as 50°C for short periods.
Humidity
The snake plant will do fine in normal household humidity. Avoid humid locations but if brown tips develop, consider occasional misting.
